Since mobile phones have been in use, scientists have talked about the dangers of the radiation it gives off. The U.K has said that radiation from mobile phones is to blame for colony collapse of bees.
The presumption is the radiation interferes with bees’ navigation systems. Which than prevents them from finding their way back to the hives. Scientist has called this problem Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). What happens is the hive’s inhabitants disappear, leaving only queens, eggs and a few workers, resulting in an abandoned hive.
A study at Landau University said that the bees’ refuse to return to their hives when mobile phones are placed nearby.
What makes this a big problem is that crops depend on pollination by bees. And having no crops means there could be major food shortages.
The same situation has been happening across North America. This is where the disappearing of bees was first discovered. Reports said the 70 percent of the East Coast commercial bee population is missing.
Many people use cell phones and I don’t think that this or any other dangers that are being reported will stop the use of them. The UK now has more mobile phones than people according to the CIA’s World FactBook website.
